My friend Pam has had a really, really incredibly horrible two weeks. Her boyfriend broke up with her, then she was laid off from her job, then her cat died suddenly and then her father passed away. Amazingly, she is still sane and standing. She says she thinks she is cursed. She says bad things always happen to her in bunches like this.
Later on, I got to thinking....I've heard people say they feel they have been cursed before. I really don't know if there is such a thing as being cursed or unlucky as much as a series of horrible events that just happen to take place in close proximity. If one believed they were cursed, that would not leave much hope for the future, would it? And wouldn't thinking bad things were going to happen to you kinda attract bad things into your life creating a self-fulfilling prophecy? I dunno.....
A. Some people are "cursed", the unluckiest people in the world.
B. It's coincidence/circumstance/ random events / the major suckage known as LIFE. |
