Many years ago when i was in graduate school and working I met a woman at a club..we hit it off and she gave me her phone number. Several days later I called her and we talked on the phone a bit getting to know each other better. After our conversation I asked her out for a date and she said yes, however, she had one requirement.
She said that on the first date I had to spend $100 on the date with her. I told her I was getting my Master's degree and was working too but I could not afford to spend that kind of money on a first date. Needless to say the conversation ended poorly and I never went out with her.
This is a true story and I have wondered about this often. Is it unreasonable to expect someone pay a lot of money on a first date or is perfectly acceptable to have high standards even for a first date?
