A dear friend gives you a gift... You are quite surprised by it... But love it and appreciate the thoughtfulness of your friend... And it made you feel very special... Later you learn that the gift was only given as a payment for something you did... Well, now the gift doesn't quite have the same "treasured" feeling...
So, my question is... Does the reason behind giving someone a gift really matter?
A) Yes, the reason makes a difference, and it's ok to feel a little disappointed and sad that it was only given as a payment...
B) No, the reason doesn't matter. Your friend was showing his/her appreciation for the actions of your friendship... |
