So I am mentally ill and being so, no branch of the services will take me, with that in mind, I don't know much, except what my family, who are all ex military and most of my friends that have been in have told me.
I have a cousin whom I have not spoken to for the past seven years, he had said some horrible things about me, out of what I assume is envy, my parents and I have always worked hard to make sure I get what I want, I had two college degrees before he graduated, when we were supposed to graduate the same year as each other, which only got me more insults from him. This same cousin didn't even attend our Uncles funeral after our Uncle was shoot two years ago, my cousin has just graduated from marines boot camp, and was just over here borrowing money from my parents so that he could get a ticket back to his base.
Before he left, without saying anything he walked over and gave me a big hug, something I never expected, I had forgiven him for what he said all thoose years ago and had tried to talk to him before but only got more harsh words till tonight.
Does the service really change a person that much in such a short time? |
